How to pick the right painting for your private event

September 25, 2026 · by Nicole Leduc

Booking a private workshop means the night is yours — and the first big decision is what your group actually paints. Here's how I help groups choose.

Start with your people, not the painting. A team of coworkers who've never met wants something loose and social. A birthday crew that loves a theme wants something personal. A group that wants to relax wants forgiving colors and soft shapes. Tell me who's coming and the painting almost picks itself.

Match the energy to the clock. Ninety-minute paintings (Bloom, Downpour, Morning Glory, First Bloom) keep the night light and social. Two-hour paintings (After the Rain, Sunset Blooms, Wildflower Heart, Rooted, Golden Hour, Garden Party) suit groups who want to sink in — with wine, snacks, and conversation between layers.

Beginner-friendly is not boring. Most groups choose a relaxed-level painting, and the results are always better than when people push for detail they don't want. Confidence makes prettier paintings than ambition does.

You can all paint the same thing — or not. Most groups pick one painting for everyone, but smaller groups sometimes split between two. Totally fine — the room stays one party either way.

When you're ready, browse the full painting menu, then request your date and tell me about your group — I'll help you choose.
